ilu wrote:@ all translators: What do you call the "system tray" in your language? I'm having trouble because this is usually described in German as the "lower right corner" - but does every distro which uses the installer have it there? The taskbar might be somewhere else entirely.
Usually I translate it into Catalan as Panell. Well, I am sort of KDE user, many Xfce translators call it 'Plafó'; Panell are kind of 'false friend' for them, may be they are right, but the term (Panell) is quite usual here.

Anyway, you can move the taskbar/system tray to any position in the screen (up and down), even vertical on the left side, as does antiX-MX.

yes there are hierra, when you choose a project you can ask for portuguese-brazilian language.
Then you must wait for the managaer to add that option.

Cheers

@hierra
I see you found your way in Transifex. I've added pt_BR to the projects you requested. Let me know if you need any help.

I think the problem is just with Firefox, on Google Chrome the page seems work perfect.
The first access give me an error and the link https://www.transifex.com/solydxk/public/ works.
For now everything's just fine.

Oops! Sorry, was just today that I saw there were pending translations in Transifex. For some reason (despite my email address is correct there) Transifex did not sent the usual alert by e-mail (?).

My bad, hope now all pending strings are finally translated. If there is some file missing, please tell me.

That's odd. I hope the other translators received their e-mail alerts.

I've also added catalan to the constructor.

Well, seems that one email from Transifex was trapped by the spam filter, may be more of them. Now the address has been whitelisted.
I see that now I have access to SolydXK Constructor. ASAP I’ll be translating this file, too.

I've just send a message to all Transifex team members. If that one is received I'll have to send an e-mail each time there were changes.

I haven't seen any emails from transifex for a long time .... not in the spam either. The last one was from July and also a "New team discussion" one. The last automatic one about a new file was from March.

Well, just in time. Now, SolydXK Constructor is already translated into Catalan.

Hope there are no other files to translate.

P.S: By the way, at 17:55 CET I did not received any email from Transifex.

I've contacted Transifex about this issue. Let's see how they react.

I looked through the translations today and noticed that we have two swedish versions - Swedish (Sweden) (sv_SE) and Swedish (sv). That seems strange. Also there's 100% translation for pt_PT but only 7% for pt_BR - does that mean that people who select pt_BR during installation will get the 93% english version? Same with de_AT, de_CH, de_BE, de_IT, de_LI, de_LU or the many variations of spanish which we don't have at all. I know we had a pt_BR translator but he seems to be gone. Just having one de_(all variants) seems much better to make a german translation file available to all german speaking people. Same with pt and es.

Since we have only limited capacities I think we should limit ourselves to one translation per language and not even make available the variants. That would not be perfect but "good enough" and much better than having a lot of variants with just 10%.

I don't know how the localization system works exactly. Is there an intelligent fallback system or would schoelje have to copy the files?

Totally agree.
I had mentioned before that pt and pt-pt is the same.

I've configured the build process of packages thus that only translations that are +80% completed are included.
In Transifex's "All Projects" list you can see that a majority of languages are not included into the packages due to this rule. All these languages were once requested and abandoned but because of the 80% rule it is not necessary to remove them, just in case if somebody wants to pick it up again.

It would still be better if people with, f.e. spanish knowledge concentrate on a joined effort to get es_ES to 100%, instead of dividing their attention on several spanish versions ... every newcomer should be directed to es_ES instead of any of the other versions.

Anyway - what happens if a user with, let's say, pt_BR locale uses Solydxk programs. Will s/he see the pt_PT version or the english version?
