if you're using lightdm IIRC you can choose which DE you would use at login screen. you can also configure which DE as default on lightdm. the same with GDM and other login manager. though, I don't know whether if the one used on solydK support this feature or not. one user could have multiple DE without any additional configuration. simply pick the DE on login screen.

However, you will get a default xfce desktop and you'll have to configure it manually. You also have to decide which xfce applications you'd like to use instead of the already installed plasma applications. All in all I'd recommend a dual boot. Keep things clean.
