[SOLVED] Debian Plymouth Manager not starting

Noticed after update Plymouth was not working.
Here is what I get when I try to start from command line:

After the update it will launch but it thinks I am in a live environment:

Check if you still have live packages installed:

apt search ^live- | grep ^i

If it lists any packages, you need to purge them.

If you have any of these directories, you can delete it: /live, /lib/live, /rofs

First, purge those live packages as suggested, and then check if /lib/live was removed as well.

All purged and all working as it should.

For those who are less comfortable with terminal, I used

apt purge ^live-

to purge these. There very well may be a better way, but it solved the problem for me.
